"No Poverty"

Luisa's story - an 11 year old girl living in poverty 27 Oct 2014 Luisa (identity protected) shares a three-roomed apartment with her mother, step-father and 9 other family members. Her step-father lost his job in construction in 2007 and her mom has been unable to find any lasting work. The family relies on a soup kitchen for food and donations of clothing from neighbors. 'One day my friend saw me at the soup kitchen and since then my friends don’t talk to me anymore and treat me like someone who is in need.' 'What I would like in the future is to change the world, to do what I can to help people, to help the poor and give them what they need. Everybody will have a stable house. Everybody will be well and nobody will be in need.

  Nearly 22,000 children die each day due to living in poverty. A quarter of humanity, 1.6 billion people, lives without electricity. In 2011, about 800 children under the age of five died every hour.

  Poverty in Mexico is related to nutrition, drinking water, housing, education, health care, social and mental security, quality and basic services in housing, income and social cohesion, according to the definition of "social development", for the laws of the country.

Some problems that Mexico face talking about poverty are: Social Discrimination, Housing, Subculture of poverty and poor access to food. Although there are organizations trying to prevent these porblems, including the governemnt, these problems are still seen in Mexico.  

Some solutions to break poverty in Mexico are: Improve quality of education, provide homes, improve access to food, provide medical care, support children care, among others.
