 Hi everyone! Welcome to this new blog. Today we are talking about a sad but very important situation that many people in the world are experiencing in nowdays. This situation is known as: Poverty. Unfortunately, poverty is more normal every time, and we are getting used to it. The name of our team is: Poverty Heroes. Because although we can't make any actions to prevent poverty, we want to help others by communicating important information about the topic. And our team is formed by: Jesus Andres Gomez, Andres Gil Lamadrid and Luis Ramon Valenzuela.

What Causes Poverty?

  Poverty rarely has a single cause. A range of factors including rising living costs, low pay, lack of work, and inadequate social security benefits together mean some people do not have enough resources.

How Many People Suffer?

The global poverty rate is defined as the percent of the global population living below the international poverty line of $1.90 a day. Currently, an estimated  9.2%  of the world's population live below this poverty line  established by the World Bank.

Poor Children?

Children remain the poorest age group in America. Nearly 1 in 6 lived in poverty in 2018— nearly 11.9 million children . The child poverty rate (16 percent) is nearly one-and-a-half times higher than that for adults ages 18-64 (11 percent) and two times higher than that for adults 65 and older (10 percent).

What is "No Poverty"?

 No poverty it’s an act of justice and the key to unlocking an enormous human potential. Still, nearly half of the world’s population lives in poverty, and lack of food and clean water is killing thousands every single day of the year. 

Worldwide Poverty Facts

 The number of people experiencing hunger globally and suffering from food insecurity had been rising gradually since 2014. It is estimated that almost 690 million people around the world experienced poverty in 2019, equivalent to 8.9 per cent of the world population – an increase of nearly 60 million in five years. Some of the countries involved in this case are:  Ethiopia, Vietnam, India, China, and Indonesia.

There are many good and generous people that is willing to help the ones that need it the most. Governments Taking Action

 The main governments that fight againts poverty are Norway, Sweden and The United States. Because these governments know the setbacks and problems poverty can bring to the country. So they try to avoid that at all costs, especially in their territories.
